Apma is spoken mainly in the central part of Pentecost Island, Vanuatu. Due to emigration there are also communities of Apma speakers on the Vanuatu islands of Efate (in Port Vila), and Espiritu Santo.
Suru Mwerani is the largest and best-studied dialect of Apma.
